B    Brief Auto-Biography

Dr. Ben Jack Ochieng holds a PhD in Economics from Maseno University (Kenya), a Master of Arts degree from Maseno University, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nairobi (Kenya). He is an Economist and Lecturer in Economics at the Department of Business and Economics, Laikipia University. In January 2022, he was appointed the Department’s Examinations Officer at Laikipia University.

Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Ochieng held various managerial roles in the banking sector, notably at SMEP DTM and Homa Bay County Women Sacco. He has published extensively in refereed journals of Management and Economics, focusing on macroeconomics and finance. Additionally, he has provided consultancy services for several organizations, including Maisha Development Trust, Elphrods Services LLP, and Partners for Health and Development in Africa (PHDA).

Dr. Ochieng has secured research funding from the National Research Fund (NRF) and Laikipia University’s 2024/2025 Internal Research Grants. He has taught a wide range of courses across multiple universities in Kenya as an adjunct lecturer, covering subjects such as quantitative techniques, advanced statistical techniques, and microeconomics and macroeconomics at the postgraduate level. Currently, he is reviewing a book on elements of econometrics, tools, and applications.
