Laikipia University on 5th May 2026 hosted officials from the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) for a research and engagement session with pension scheme members drawn from the University community.
The engagement was held under the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Retirement Benefits Authority and Laikipia University, aimed at strengthening collaboration in research, capacity building, and awareness on retirement benefits and pension management.
The session focused on providing members with an industry overview and detailed analysis of pension scheme performance, highlighting trends, opportunities, challenges, and the importance of informed retirement planning. Participants were also sensitized on the evolving pension landscape and the role of sound financial management in securing long-term financial well-being.
The engagement further underscored the importance of partnerships between institutions of higher learning and regulatory bodies in promoting financial literacy, research-driven policy discussions, and sustainable retirement benefit practices.
