Director, Resource Mobilization and Investment
The Directorate of Resource Mobilization and Investment is established by Laikipia University Statutes. As per the LU statutes (2019), the Directorate has the following mandate:
- Develop, implement and monitor fundraising strategies
- Engage county and national governments, companies, trusts, partners/donors, banks and foundations within Kenya and abroad to raise funds;
- Coordinate University endowment fund;
- Ensure preparation of periodic updates and reports on the Directorate to the Vice-Chancellor and partners as need be;
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals for corporate and other funding agencies;
- Organize fundraising events for partnership building between implementers and potential partners;
- Manage and optimize returns from Income Generating Units (IGUs);
- Identify, recommend and implement means to grow the Endowment Fund;
- Identify, recommend and implement means to attract funds through strategic collaborations, linkages, partnerships and networks;
- Coordinate capacity building for raising funds through research, innovation projects and consultancies; and
- Undertake such other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Vice-Chancellor.
Office Staff
The Directorate is headed by a Director assisted by an Assistant Registrar. Other officers are an accountant and the in charge of water bottling plant.
