INTRODUCTION

Welcome to Laikipia University Library. In your academic pursuits, you will discover that the library is a MUST visit. You are welcome to exploit the rich information resources available in both print and electronic formats. The library has a team of dedicated staff to ensure that your information needs are well met. The library focuses on providing information resources for learning, teaching and research. The library has varied sections designed to make information access easy, fulfilling and stress free. These include: Circulation; Reserve, Reference; the Digital Library (for E-Resources); Africana/Periodicals & Special Collections; and Archives.

To be a leading centre in provision, dissemination and preservation of knowledge

OBJECTIVES

  1. Collect, organize and disseminate information
  2. Promote the usage  of print and e-resources
  3. Provide reference and inquiry services to users
  4. Provide access to a wide range of  information materials
  5. Preserve, conserve and restore information resources for the present and future scholarly endeavors

RESOURCES AVAILABLE

  1. Electronic resources: The library subscribes to e-journals and e-books from diverse electronic databases.
  2. Books: The Library has over 30,000 print volumes in all taught programmes of the University.
  3. Past Examination Papers: University past examination papers are available to help users in their preparations for examinations.
  4. Theses and Dissertations originating from Laikipia University.
  5. Newspaper indexes: Indexing is done on topics relevant to users.
  6. Library Catalogue Database: The Library has an updated catalogue of the Library’s collection for users’ searching.
