The Directorate of Corporate Affairs at Laikipia University operates under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor. It is a key unit responsible for shaping, promoting, and protecting the University's public image. Led by the Director of Corporate Affairs, the office plays a strategic role in supporting the University's mission through effective communication, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and brand management.

Mandate and Core Functions

The Directorate is responsible for enhancing the visibility and reputation of Laikipia University both locally and internationally. Its functions are broad and encompass the following key areas:

  1. Marketing and Branding
    • Promotes the University’s academic programs, research, and services.
    • Develops marketing strategies and materials to position the University as a leading institution of higher learning.
  2. Trade Fairs and Exhibitions

Organizes and participates in local and international trade fairs, educational expos, and exhibitions to showcase the University's offerings and innovations.

  1. Policy Implementation

Executes policies and guidelines relevant to corporate communication and public relations, ensuring alignment with the University's strategic plan.

  1. Events Management

Coordinates and manages university events, including conferences, public lectures, and ceremonial functions, to ensure adequate representation and branding.

  1. Media Relations
    • Builds and maintains strong relationships with media houses.
    • Monitors media coverage and trends to safeguard and enhance the University's public profile.
  2. Corporate Communications

Prepares and disseminates publicity content including newsletters, press releases, brochures, and reports to both internal and external audiences.

  1. Digital Engagement

Manages the University’s presence on digital platforms, including social media, website, and other online channels, to ensure timely and relevant communication.

  1. Stakeholder Communication

Facilitates open and consistent communication between the University and its various stakeholders, including students, staff, alumni, government agencies, and the public.

  1. Customer Service and Feedback
    • Enhances customer satisfaction by efficiently handling inquiries, feedback, and suggestions.
    • Oversees the resolution of complaints and ensures that information is accessible to stakeholders.
  2. Crisis Communication

Develops and implements strategies for effective communication during crises to protect the University’s reputation.

  1. Protocol Management

Oversees official protocol and ceremonial matters related to the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, ensuring decorum and adherence to institutional procedures.

The Corporate Affairs Office plays a crucial role in shaping the University's image and credibility. By effectively managing communication and building meaningful relationships with diverse audiences, the Directorate supports Laikipia University's growth, partnerships, and overall academic mission.
