Ministry of Education Conducts Monitoring and Evaluation Visit at Laikipia University

Laikipia University on 4th April 2026 hosted a Monitoring and Evaluation team from the Ministry of Education led by Dr. Kingori Ephantus. The visit focused on assessing the University’s preparedness and strategic positioning as a centre for Monitoring and Evaluation in support of policy improvement, informed decision-making, future funding opportunities, and programme development.
The engagement also provided an opportunity to evaluate the University’s readiness to receive the first 2029 Competency-Based Education (CBE) cohort, particularly in the areas of STEM, Arts, and Sports Sciences.
The Ministry team was received by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Research and Student Affairs, on behalf of the Vice Chancellor. Discussions highlighted the University’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, infrastructure development, and alignment with national education reforms aimed at strengthening higher education and skills development in
Kenya.
