Bridging Research and Innovation for Community Transformation

Laikipia University is currently hosting its vibrant Research and Innovation Day under the theme “Bridging Research and Innovation for Community Transformation.” The event has brought together a dynamic community of innovators, researchers, and students, all united by a shared commitment to developing solutions that positively impact society.

Organized by the Department of Research, Human Rights and Gender, the forum highlights the University’s growing role as a hub for forward-thinking ideas and practical innovation. In his remarks, the Director, Dr. Benard Kurgat, expressed sincere appreciation to the organizing committee and University management for their support in making the event a success. He also revealed that the Directorate is in the process of compiling a comprehensive Book of Abstracts showcasing the innovations presented, ahead of the upcoming Biennial Conference scheduled for 2027.

The event was officially opened by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Research and Student Affairs, Prof. John Kanjogu, who reaffirmed the University management’s commitment to strengthening research and innovation. He commended students for their creativity and encouraged them to embrace their role as the next generation of researchers, innovators, and patent pioneers.

The ongoing engagements continue to inspire collaboration, creativity, and knowledge exchange, reinforcing Laikipia University’s mission to transform communities through impactful research and innovation.
