B Brief Auto-biography
Prof. Albert Mugambi Rutere is a Professor of Literature at Laikipia University. He is a PhD graduate of Morgan State University (USA), a Master’s degree holder from the University of Edinburgh (UK), and possesses an undergraduate degree from Kenyatta University (Kenya). He has over 30 years of teaching experience at the university level in Kenya, the USA, and Nigeria. He has taught and supervised both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has authored and co-authored over 50 papers in referred journals, authored one (1) textbook, and co-edited two (2) textbooks. He has been an engaging member of the Senate at Laikipia University and The Catholic University of East Africa. He has also been a member of the Deans Committee and the University Management Board at Laikipia University. He has chaired several ad hoc senate and university management board committees at Laikipia University. Further, he was a director of the board of undergraduate studies and Director of the Nakuru Campus of Laikipia University. In 2022, he was the acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (administration, finance and planning) at Laikipia University. In 2023, he went on sabbatical leave at Meru University of Science and Technology.
Prof. Rutere is the current Senate Representative of the School of Humanities and Development Studies. He is also an external examiner of Literature Courses at Kenyatta University and Literature, English, and Linguistics courses at Meru University of Science and Technology.
