The process of evaluation is always conducted at the end of contract period to determine and verify the reported performance. The evaluation for the FY 2020/2021 was done on Monday 15th November 2021.
The process started at 9.00am under the Lead Evaluator Mr Peter Kariuki from the Office of Performance Management Monitoring Unit. The Laikipia University team led by the University Council Chair Dr. Ken Nyaundi and Independent Member Mr. Sammy Oleku and Vice Chancellor Prof. Kibett Rotich were already in the University Board Room. Other members of the team included University Management Board (UMB) members DVC AFP Prof. Isaac Ochieng’, DVC ARSA Prof. Vicky Khasandi, REG AHC Dr. Hezron Nyamwega, Finance Officer represented by Ms. Lilian Muthee-Senior Accountant, and REG AA represented by Mr Francis Wanyama-Deputy Registrar. The Director Planning and Performance Management led Performance Management Secretariat/Technical Team assisted by Mr. David Otieno-Assistant Registrar and Ms. Susan Koittee, Senior Clerk. Other Ms. V. Mideva-Procurement Officer, Mr. M. Orwako-Estates Manager, Mr. A. Amutavi- Administrative Assistant, DVC, AFP Office, Ms. J. Muli, Mr- Administrative Assistant, DVC, ARSA Office. Mr. E. Muthangya-ICT Officer, Reg. AHC Office were invited to provide support to the Technical Team on PC issues that might emerge. The lead Evaluator Mr. Peter Kariuki took the LU Team through the preliminaries and set the stage for evaluation which entails moderation of achievement upon production of evidence. The University Council/ Vice Chancellors Secretariat- Mr. Josiah Mokaya, Administrative Assistant and Ms. Irine Odhiambo-Senior Administrative Assistant were tasked with taking of minutes and recording the moderated achievement a task which was very well executed. The moderated achievements were confirmed and final copy printed at 3.20 pm. The evaluator was excited about the team work in exhibited by the University on PC evaluation process.
The University Final Composite Score of 2.9594 (VERY GOOD) was achieved.
The VC, Prof J.K. Rotich, applauded the Directorate of Planning and Performance Management (DPPM) team headed by Prof Moses K. Rotich, for the good job well done. He thanked the University Management Board and other members of staff present for the support. He finally appreciated and thanked the University Council represented by the Chair and Independent Member for attending and supporting the whole process performance contract process from the first quarter to the fourth quarter. The Independent Member of Council Mr. Sammy OLeku thanked all staff members led by the VC for their participation in the exercise, noting that achievement of very good composite score is encouraging.
Mr. Peter Kariuki finally thanked the University Team and reminded them to focus on this year’s PC given that the FY 2020/2021 PC is now gone. He further urged the University to enhance the spirit of team work that led to the great achievement.
