The Laikipia University held an educative forum on Savings and Pension Management at Mandala Hall on 27th February 2025. The Egerton University Retirement Benefit Scheme in conjunction with Zamara Group Limited facilitated the session aiming at enabling staff with the right skills and capacity to manage their finances for a financially secure and prosperous future.
Zamara Group Limited is a Pan African financial and insurance company offering pension consulting services, wealth management, and financial planning, among other services. It provides services to eight countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Malawi, Nigeria, DRC, Nigeria, and UAE.
Mr. Khalid Obulinji, Head of Consulting & Advisory at Zamara Group Limited took members through the New Tax Law Amendment Act on tax-deductible contributions that make retirement savings more attractive. Besides making the rightful financial decisions, Mr. Khalid also implored members to register for the Post-Retirement Medical Fund (PRMF) while acknowledging the critical importance of healthcare during retirement. The medical fund reduces the financial strain on retirees and thus essential. He also urged staff members to get closer to their families because it becomes their social circle on retirement. All these would facilitate a smooth life during retirement. As a University, we are committed to a prosperous life for all our staff.
