One of our very own, Benfesto Monyoncho Matara, a 4th year student at the School of Education pursuing B.Ed. Science (Maths/Chem) option emerged 3rd in the 2020 UNESCO Global Club Youth Multimedia Competition under the 20-24 age category. This was a competition organized by UNESCO club members globally to showcase their activities within their institutions in line with the SDGs.
The winners will be recognized and showcased in UNESCO global events of the year. Their profiles will also be highlighted in UNESCO Newsletters globally. This is a very commendable achievement that has put our university, country, and continent on the global map. Please join us in celebrating the exemplary performance of our own student.
2020 Global UNESCO Club Youth Multimedia Competition Winners
The benefits of this win include;
- Prizes to the top 3 global winners
- An official plaque engraved with name and a certificate.
- Invitation to UNESCO’s Builders of the Universe Camp held at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, USA.
- The invitation will include a scholarship for the fee for the camp, food, accommodations, and transport to and from the airport.
- A special ceremony shall be held for our student at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland, camp, USA.
- Recognition and showcase in global events during the year
- Internship opportunity to learn how the United Nations conducts itself, and meet youths from around the world.

Our national and internal celebrations of this student may be affected from obvious challenges of COVID-19.
