Laikipia University successfully held a two-day Induction Training Programme for newly appointed Deans, Chairpersons of Departments and other University Management Board members at the Golden Mall, Nakuru.
The training was officially opened by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Finance, and Planning, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Patience Mshenga, encouraged members to embrace their leadership roles with commitment, teamwork and integrity. She underscored the critical role of academic and administrative leaders in strengthening the University’s governance structure and upholding the legal framework guided by the University Charter and Statutes.
The programme covered key areas including governance and compliance, strategic planning, performance contracting, financial and procurement management, as well as ISO Certification and Quality Management Systems aimed at enhancing institutional standards and service excellence. Emphasis was placed on aligning leadership practice with the University’s strategic objectives and institutional mandate.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kibett Rotich, joined the participants and in his remarks reaffirmed the University’s commitment to quality service delivery, accountability and continuous improvement.
The induction reaffirmed Laikipia University’s dedication to strong governance, strategic growth and nurturing leadership that transforms for the world
