Laikipia University Attends the Utumishi Boys Academy Career Fair

In the effort to spearhead its mission, “To contribute to the World through Education, Research, Training, Consultancy, Innovation, Outreach and Collaboration”, Laikipia University attended the Utumishi Boys Academy Career Fair event on 13th July, 2024. The event aimed at sensitizing and mentoring students into making better career choices at the university and college level; a journey which starts in high school through subject selection. 

Dr. Alexander Mbeke, Laikipia University TVET Institute Coordinator represented the institution and he played a pivotal role in enlightening students on the importance of self-awareness in career choices. He advised them to work hard, remain disciplined and focused for the realization of their dreams. He welcomed them to Laikipia University after form 4 to pursue the different programmes offered by the institution.

Laikipia University through the Registrar, Academic Affairs (AA) office showcased its programmes while also addressing students enquiries. Many students were keen to know the location of the institution, the grade and subject requirements for each programme, how to select courses after form four and how funding is done. The institution was glad to guide and mentor them appropriately.

The Career Fair was well attended by different universities including Kenyatta University, Strathmore University, Kabarak University, Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), United States International University, Kenya Methodist University (KeMU), Murang’a University, Mount Kenya University (MKU), Dedan Kimathi University, University of Embu. Also, TVET institutes, high schools, and other stakeholders like Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) were in attendance.
