The Kenya Red Cross Society holds an Annual Volunteer Award Ceremony. This is usually aimed at motivating the volunteers who have done exemplary work towards achieving its mission of alleviating human suffering. In 2020, Laikipia University won the Chapter Award category after a thorough selection process by the committee in charge. The victory emanated from members efforts and sacrifice especially towards the fight against the Covid-19. These activities involved; mask making and distribution, sensitization on hand washing process and rescue services to victims of calamities such as floods activities geared towards reducing stress resulting from the pandemic.The Award Ceremony was held on 27th November 2020 in Nairobi, headed by the Red Cross Society Secretary General, Dr. Asha Mohammed.
