Laikipia University led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kibett Rotich, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Teaching Through Technology (T3) Alliance, an organization based in Alaska, USA on 21st August, 2023. The guests paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor and thereafter signed the MOU with the University. The forum was organized by the School of Science and Applied Technology, in consultation with the University Legal Office.
The ceremony was held at the University Management Boardroom and officially graced by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Kibett Rotich. Also in attendance was Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor – Administration, Finance and Planning Prof. Nicholas Kamau, Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic, Research and Student Affairs represented by Dr. Sheila Wandera, Registrar Academic Affairs, Registrar Administration and Human Capital, Deans of Schools, CoD Computing and Informatics and other members of the University.
The T3 Alliance were represented by a team of five, Ms. Roxanne Mourant, the CEO, Ms. Jasmine Johnsone, Silas, Sam, Richard
The University and T3 Alliance in their partnership, shall focus mainly on the following aspects:
1. Capacity Building / Development
2. Conducting Workshops
3. Research / Project Funding
The two institutions shall also focus on cooperation and partnership in incorporation of Teaching through Technology into the current University Curricula and foster the student-centered learning model also known as Competency Based Curriculum (CBS) as opposed to Knowledge Based Curriculum (KBC) through Design Thinking Process, Innovative Solutions for Young Leaders and Globalization of University Programmes. In support of this, the T3 Alliance also donated equipment which will be used by Laikipia University students for problem solving in the digital age. They will also conduct three-day training at Mandela Hall as from 22nd August, 2023.
