Laikipia University Productivity Mainstreaming Training

In an effort to increase productivity, Laikipia University held a Productivity Champions Workshop Training at Mandela Hall on May 16th, 2024. The forum under the stewardship of the University’s Productivity Mainstreaming Committee aimed at sensitising Laikipia University’s Productivity Champions on the importance of embracing productivity in the workplace.

The workshop was officially launched by Dr. Hezron Nyamwega, Registrar, Administration and Human Capital (AHC) on behalf of the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Finance and Planning (AFP), who later joined the forum. In his remarks, Prof. James Ogola, Ag. DVC, AFP stressed the importance of self-evaluation in individual performance. He further reiterated the importance of Laikipia University staff to always reflect on what they can do for the institution by exceeding expectations on individual and team performance.

The Attendees were urged to be more focused on efficient and effective service delivery to achieve high-performance output by the Productivity Mainstreaming Committee. In addition, utilization of scarce resources for high productivity took center stage during the training.

The forum also aimed at equipping the champions with the necessary skills to collect productivity measurement data for use in computing the University’s productivity index. For productivity to be achieved, every Laikipia University
staff must operate under the guidance of the institution's mission and vision, and resources must be utilized well to the satisfaction of customers and stakeholders.

The event was attended Prof. Charles Nguta- Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Research, and Student Affairs (ARSA), Prof. Robert Mwebi - Chairperson, Productivity Mainstreaming Committee, Dr. Samuel Onyuma - Director, Directorate of Planning and Performance Management (DPPM), Productivity Mainstreaming Committee members and Productivity Champions.
