Laikipia University Hosted a Delegation from The Kenya Revenue Authority

Laikipia University recently hosted a delegation from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) for an in-depth tax sensitization and compliance engagement convened by the Vice Chancellor. The strategic meeting brought together KRA officials and key university departments in a collaborative effort to strengthen institutional compliance with evolving tax regulations.

Held from 2nd to 5th February 2026, the engagement drew participation from staff in Procurement, Human Resources, Finance, Resource Mobilization, and other critical operational units. The sessions were designed to equip university teams with updated knowledge on recent changes in tax laws and government regulations that directly impact institutional processes and financial management.

Discussions focused on essential compliance areas, including Pay as You Earn (PAYE), Value Added Tax (VAT), Excise Duty laws, and the Electronic Tax Invoice Management System (eTIMS). Through detailed presentations and interactive forums, KRA officials provided clarity on statutory obligations, practical implementation frameworks, and best practices for institutional adherence.

The engagement reinforced the University’s commitment to strengthening internal systems, enhancing financial accountability, and aligning its operations with national tax policies. By fostering open dialogue and technical guidance, the sessions empowered staff to navigate regulatory requirements with greater confidence and precision.

Laikipia University continues to prioritize good governance, transparency, and continuous capacity building through strategic partnerships with government agencies. The University expresses its appreciation to the Kenya Revenue Authority for its collaboration and support in advancing compliant, efficient, and accountable institutional operations.
