Laikipia University 2023-2027 Strategic Plan Launch on 21st June 2024

Laikipia University launched its 2023-2027 Strategic Plan on 21st June, 2024 at the University’s Vision 2030 Hall. The event was graced by Ms. Julia Chepkiyeny, representing the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Education. In her remarks, Ms. Julia stressed on the importance of having a Strategic Plan that tackles the challenges in the education sector while also addressing the needs in the labour market through innovation, research and consultancy.

She reiterated that Laikipia University’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan would act as a guiding framework for decision making, community engagement and innovation and thus giving students an opportunity to excel locally and internationally.

While reading the Ministry of Education Cabinet Secretary’s speech, Ms. Julia emphasized on the government’s commitment to supporting higher education institutions to address financial challenges through investment and resource mobilization. All stakeholders were urged to remain dedicated to the implementation of the key issues within the Strategic Plan.

In his remarks, the Laikipia University Council Chairman Dr. Lemein Korei, said that the University's Strategic Plan is in line with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA). He further called on all the stakeholders to play their respective roles for the fruition of the targets, and projections within the Strategic Plan.

The Strategic Plan marks an important milestone in the University’s dedication to  achieving its Vision and Mission.

The event was attended by the University Council & Management Board, members of staff and students, and stakeholders.
