Laikipia University Recognizes the Importance of Its Students being Happy
The Laikipia University Management Board held a Customer Satisfaction Meeting with Laikipia University Students Association (LUSA), Class Representatives and Games Captain. The purpose of the meeting was to obtain feedback from students on the quality of services rendered in various departments of the University. The meeting was also attended by Deans of Schools and Director Quality Assurance and Standards.
In his remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Finance and Planning (AF&P), Prof. Isaac. E. Ochieng’ who is also the chair Public Complaints Resolution Committee, appreciated the students for attending the meeting, and noted that the meeting was of great importance as it provides feedback from the University’s Core Customer – Students. He also informed the students that the University had been re-certified to Quality Management System (ISO 9001:2015) and Information Security Management System (ISO/IEC 27001:2013) by the Kenya Bureau of Standards. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (AF&P) made a promise to the students that all issues raised during the meeting would be analyzed and acted as a matter of priority, and feedback on action(s) taken provided to the student representatives during subsequent meetings. He also assured the students that there will be no victimization of those who report cases, and information relating to complaints would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
On his part, the Director Quality Assurance and Standards, Dr. Robert Mwebi, noted that the University has established various mechanisms to ensure that needs and expectations of customers are fulfilled. He requested the students to make use of suggestion boxes, departmental complaints and compliments register as well as customer’s email on customer@laikipia.ac.ke to provide feedback on the services offered by the University.
