Message from the Chairperson

Established in 2013, the Economics Department has continuously nurtured exceptional students, academic faculty, and researchers capable of deploying dynamic approaches to emerging societal problems. Our department aims to cultivate resourceful economists equipped to handle allocation complexities in both public and private sectors, aligning with Kenya's and Africa's broader development policies.

Students under our instruction undergo comprehensive training across essential pillars including microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and mathematical modelling. These academic components empower our graduates with high-demand competencies directly applicable to vital economic sectors—ranging from public policy, finance, and trade to agriculture, health, energy, housing, and environmental management.
