University Senate Composition

The University Senate is established as the principal academic organ of the institution. The following members constitute the University Senate:

Executive & Administrative Leadership

  • The Vice-Chancellor Chairperson
  • The Deputy Vice-Chancellors
  • The Registrars
  • The Finance Officer
  • The University Librarian

Academic & Faculty Governance

  • Deans & Directors of Schools, Institutes, Campuses & Academic Units
  • Heads of Directorates
  • Associate Deans and Directors
  • Chairpersons of Academic Departments or Centres
  • Professors of the University

Institutional Representatives

  • The Dean of Students
  • One representative appointed from amongst each School, Institute, or Campus Board
  • Two members elected by the Students' Organization
  • Other members determined by the Council in accordance with Statutes

Statutory Secretariat The Registrar (Academic Affairs) serves as the Secretary to the Senate.
