Prof. Wendo Nabea
Director, Graduate School
Message from the Director
Graduate School is focused on offering opportunities to graduate students to earn postgraduate diplomas, Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. We work with other units in the University to provide research and service to the community around, the country and the world at large. Graduate programmes at Laikipia University arise from a combination of departmental and school strengths, credentialled lecturers and student interests.
Our graduate students are expected to develop an excellent grasp and understanding of literature in their fields of study, cultivating critical thinking and analytical approaches to knowledge for application in a professional aura. Our endeavour is to meet the market demands for postgraduates with the requisite skills and abilities to address needs that are critical to the country and the world, thereby transforming society in a desirable manner.
The Graduate School is operationalized through a Postgraduate Studies Policy that sets the guidelines and the standards of service rendered to our postgraduate students, staff and stakeholders. It sets out the principles underpinning the management of admissions, course duration, examinations, proposal evaluations, and examination of theses and projects. Through this policy, Graduate School is committed to the provision of quality service to all our clients and stakeholders. This commitment is made possible through the Board of Graduate School whose members are appointed, in accordance with the Laikipia University Statute XXI, on very specific terms with the running of the School.
