International Women’s Day is globally celebrated on 8th March with the aim of recognizing the social economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This year's theme, Accelerate Action focusses on the urgency of making faster, more effective strides towards gender equality.

School of Humanities and Development Studies Hosts Student Advising Forum

The School of Humanities and Development Studies (SHDS) organized a Student Advising Forum for its students on March 4, 2025, at the Nelson Mandela Hall. The event, an initiative of Dr. Sheila Pamela Wandera-Simwa, the Academic Dean of SHDS, was well-attended by both staff and students. The forum was officially opened by Prof. John Kanjogu, the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic, Research, and Student Affairs (DVC ARSA).

Laikipia University Hosts International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Laikipia University marked the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGS) with a groundbreaking event to empower and inspire young women and girls to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The auspicious event under the theme: ‘Unpacking STEM Careers: Her Voice in Science,’ took place on Tuesday, 11th February 2025, at the Vision 2030 Hall.

Career Mentorship to Our Students

Laikipia University is committed to empowering its students and making them competitive professionals.  The department of TVET, Career Placement, Alumni and External Linkages led by Dr. Naftal M Nyang’ara, held a career and mentorship session to our students on 9th January, 2025. The forum aimed at equipping them with the right skills for the job market and entrepreneurial space.
