  12. Self-sponsored students are not considered.

B. Bursaries and Scholarships

Laikipia University offers financial aid in the form of bursaries and scholarships to needy students who face challenges in covering school fees and living expenses.

We have internal financial aid.

  1. Laikipia University Bursary

  2. Laikipia University Students Association (LUSA) Bursary

The external sources of financial aid in the form of bursaries and scholarships include sponsors such as

  • Rattansi Bursary

  • Joe Wanjui Education Trust

The criteria for consideration in most of these external scholarships are provided by the sponsor from time to time and include,

  • Disadvantaged financial background.

  • Government-sponsored and not self-sponsored students.

  • Thoughtful and coherent educational and career plans.

C. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) Matters

Students benefit from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) matters consultations, support, and assistance. HELB only benefits government-sponsored students. The office collaborates closely with the HELB Head Office to ensure that all students receive the necessary assistance. It organizes HELB Matters Day at least once per semester and invites HELB officers to raise awareness among students regarding issues related to their HELB.

During HELB Matters Day, the office provides a room for students to present and discuss their HELB-related issues. Consultative matters are addressed promptly, while issues that may require follow-up are logged for timely resolution. Students receive feedback afterward.
