Welcome to the Laikipia University Security Department. The department focuses continuously on safeguarding students, staff, and visitors within our campuses, alongside securing all vital university assets, properties, and structural installations. We maintain a team of competent, rigorously trained security professionals deployed across multiple specialized tactical units.

We actively coordinate with academic and administrative divisions to cultivate a secure and supportive campus ecosystem. We strongly believe that threat prevention is a collective responsibility, and we encourage all members of our community to remain vigilant and share security insights directly with our response teams.

Department Structure & Operational Divisions

Core Jurisdictional Focus Areas

  • Investigating thefts, accidental losses, and unauthorized properties.
  • Handling assault reports and stabilizing student/staff conflicts.
  • Liaising with government security forces to execute trace and rescue workflows for missing students.
  • Resolving domestic, family, and gender-based campus conflicts.
  • Developing strategic frameworks to prevent theft of personal valuables.
  • Proactively patrolling university properties to minimize damage liabilities.

Operational Units

Our security program utilizes three interconnected tactical units to execute its mandates:

  1. General Duty Section Manages on-campus patrols, gate checkouts, and physical guards.
  2. Crime Section Coordinates investigations, evidence logs, and external law liaison.
  3. CCTV Section Operates 24/7 digital feeds, smart surveillance, and backup monitoring.

Incident Reporting Protocol

Instant Notification Requirement

All students, faculty, and campus staff are advised to report any security incident, threat of violence, or criminal activity targeting life or property immediately to the security office. Late reports severely impact tracking and trace success.

Reports can be filed physically at the Security Office Report Desk located at Main Gate B Entrance, or remotely via our dedicated cellular and digital hotlines.
