Message from the Director

The Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is strategically tasked with leading the planning, implementation, systemic management, and ongoing support parameters of all enterprise ICT functions and services within Laikipia University.

Through tech framework development and secure digital architectures, the Directorate underpins the academic, administrative, and research operational ecosystems powering our modern university framework.

Structure of the ICT Directorate

This section secures the continuous availability, overall reliability, and desktop-level troubleshooting of enterprise applications and user systems across all University campuses. Core operations manage user identity directories, single sign-on access parameters, and tech deployments. The centralized **ICT Helpdesk** operates as a main hub under this division.

2

Systems Development

Driving continuous digital transformation and agility, this section designs and deploys custom institutional software arrays, cross-platform APIs, enterprise database models, and web services suites. The group ensures university systems scale efficiently alongside emerging technical standards and programmatic modernization roadmaps.

3

Infrastructure & Networks

Responsible for safeguarding and managing the physical and digital core layers, this team maintains data backbone links, fiber backhauls, intra-campus bandwidth provisioning, and server topology resilience. Crucially, they design and monitor our adaptive cybersecurity perimeter to shield intellectual property from network vulnerabilities.
