Sports competitions play a vital role in our institution. By promoting physical fitness among students and staff, they contribute to lower healthcare costs and an improved quality of life. They relieve stress for both staff and students, foster team cohesion, enhance community spirit, and create a sense of belonging. Furthermore, they provide greater opportunities for youth development, talent identification, and mentorship through structured sports programs.

Sports events and competitions are scheduled annually, and a calendar for each academic year is published before the commencement of the academic year, covering a range of levels from regional to national. For interschool competitions, the calendar is created based on the sporting activities at both the regional and national levels.

Laikipia University has produced several players across various teams in our country. To mention just a few, one of our rugby students represents Kenya in Rugby Sevens during international competitions. We have an outstanding performance in KUSA.
