Academic Qualifications and Work Experience
Ms. Sereya Beatrice Maitoyo is a distinguished development practitioner and governance leader with extensive experience in community development, gender advocacy, child protection, and intercultural engagement. She holds a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (MAICS) from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, USA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development and Business Administration from Daystar University.
Ms. Maitoyo has built a dynamic career through a series of impactful roles across national and international organizations. She has served as a Gender Specialist Consultant for the Mainyoito Pastoralist Integrated Development Organisation (MPIDO) and as Vice Chairperson of the Plan Implementation Committee for the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Her governance experience includes serving as an Independent Trustee on the Board of Trustees of the Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS).
Internationally, she has worked with World Vision in South Africa as a Consultant for Advocacy and Child Protection and as a Life Skills Trainer with Oasis South Africa (Green Light Project). While in the United States, she served as a Research Assistant in the Children at Risk Department at Fuller Theological Seminary and as a part-time Consultant in the Policy and Advocacy Department at World Vision International in Los Angeles.
In Kenya, Ms. Maitoyo has made significant contributions as the Community Capacity Building Manager at ChildFund International, a Programme Officer at MPIDO, and a UNV Electoral Observer for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Currently, she serves as Chairperson of the Human Resource Management Committee of the Council and is a member of the Finance, Investment, and General Purposes Committee. Her diverse expertise supports institutional growth, human capital development, and strategic financial oversight.
