Ms. Marie Wanjeri Mugo is an accomplished professional in development and governance, with a strong focus on gender equity, youth empowerment, and community development. She holds a Master of Arts in Gender and Development from the University of Nairobi, a Bachelor of Arts degree, and a Diploma in Education from Kenyatta University.
Ms. Mugo brings a wealth of experience from both the public and private sectors. She has served as Gender Technical Advisor at Mepserve Africa Limited, where she provided strategic leadership in integrating gender-responsive approaches into development programs. She also served as Chief Officer for Youth Affairs, Sports, and Communication within the County Government of Kiambu, overseeing the implementation of policies and delivery of services in these key sectors. Additionally, she was the Administrator of the Youth, Women, and Persons with Disabilities Enterprise Development Fund, where she championed inclusive economic empowerment initiatives.
In her current governance role, Ms. Mugo serves as Chairperson of the Academic and Research Committee of the Council. She is also a member of the Audit, Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management Committees. Her leadership ensures the advancement of academic excellence and institutional integrity through oversight, policy formulation, and strategic planning.
