Laikipia University is committed to collaborations and partnerships that have the potential to benefit its students and stakeholders. Prof. Charles Nguta, Ag. DVC (ARSA) led a team from the institution to discuss a potential partnership with Adanian Labs in Nairobi on 15th July, 2024. Adanian Labs is a Pan African Web 3.0 tech company that applies entrepreneurial principles in processes, learning, iteration, scaling and innovating solutions to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by empowering the African youth with a lasting impact.
The partnership, initiated by the School of Science and Applied Technology, aims at nurturing and transforming the world using technology and innovation as the main anchoring tenets. During the discussions, the Laikipia University team explored potential areas for cooperation which include attachments, internships, industry linkages, innovations, incubations, resource mobilization and advancing talent development through various initiatives such as training and competitions.
The University is currently working on drafting a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the actualization of the partnership. This process follows the successful conclusion of training for the first cohort under a previous MOU with Teach2Give earlier this year. Laikipia University through its School of Science and Applied Technology is dedicated to fostering industry partnerships to enhance talent development, particularly in the face of rapid technological changes. These efforts are part of the broader strategy to remain up-to-date and responsive to technological advancements by integrating industry perspectives.
Other members of staff present during the visit include Dr. Poti Abaja, Dean (School of Science and Applied Technology) and Dr. Alex Kibet, COD (Department of Computing and Informatics).
